Introduction
Success is everybody’s desire—even those who have nothing to offer to make it happen crave it. It’s a universal hunger that spans across continents, age groups, and social classes. Everyone wants to make it in life. However, wanting success is not the same as being prepared for it. Many dream of arriving at great heights without a thought for the process that leads there. That’s where the danger lies.

Interrogate the Source of Success
In this age of glamour and social media illusions, we must learn to pause and ask hard questions. Don’t follow any success blindly—interrogate how it came about. If you don’t understand the story behind someone’s success, don’t imitate it. It could cost you everything. There are success stories that, if you knew the real behind-the-scenes—the hidden altars served, the blood covenants made, the moral compromises accepted—you would no longer admire them. You’d realize you cannot afford the price they paid, nor should you even try.
There are certain glitters that look like success, but they are nothing more than strategic traps designed to ensnare the gullible. Be wise. Some people may appear outwardly attractive, and even enviable, but when you uncover the foundation of their wealth and fame, you will understand why envy is foolish and potentially fatal.

Godly Success Requires Wisdom and Purpose
Every success attained in God is sustained by His wisdom. God never blesses in ways that contradict His character. When He lifts a person, He provides the grace and integrity to maintain that elevation. You can’t sustain what God did not initiate. Those who succeed in God’s way are people of wisdom, discipline, and deep-rooted purpose.
Success is not for the lazy. It is not a lottery win. It is the result of building intentionally—with conviction, commitment, consistency, creativity, diligence, and dignity. True achievers do not chase success. Instead, they build lives of value, trusting that success will follow them.

The Illusion of the Modern-Day “Successful” Person
We live in a generation where criminals and morally bankrupt individuals are paraded as role models of success. They drive the best cars, live in opulence, and flaunt luxuries that many only dream of. But behind the scenes, many are burdened by the darkness of their deeds. They wear smiles, but their souls are chained. They appear rich, but their lives are impoverished of peace.
These are days when criminals appear like a signature of success, but they lack the inner strength, depth, and audacity of men and women who have a genuine history of tenacity, perseverance, and honour in their journey to success. If your definition of success is built on noise, wealth, or visibility alone, you will be misled.
Success Is Built, Not Chased
Chasing success often ends in disappointment or disaster. Success isn’t meant to be chased—it is built from within. When a builder of success lies down to sleep, their dreams remain alive. Even at rest, their vision continues. They are awake internally, pursuing a purpose that becomes visible at dawn. This is the mark of someone who is genuinely building a meaningful life.
As I wrote in my book, “I Believe in Excellence,” success demands breaking barriers through diligent training, effective prayers, and valuable relationships. You need a network of people who are not only established but are also testaments of excellence—people with quality, integrity, and spiritual depth. Excellence is not accidental; it is cultivated.

The Road to Success Is Not Smooth
Let no one deceive you—success does not come on a straight, smooth highway. It is often bumpy, curved, and slippery. There are days of silence, seasons of pain, and moments when everything seems lost. But with the wisdom and grace of God, those who are determined to break barriers will eventually see the light.
What keeps you going on this road is not the applause of men or the size of your bank account, but the burning conviction that your journey matters and that God is backing you. If you’re chasing shortcuts, you’re likely heading for a crash. If you’re only motivated by quick results, you may fall into traps that have swallowed others.

The Fatal Cost of Ungodly Success
Let it be known: success at all costs is fatally costly. The world has countless examples of men and women who rose rapidly, only to fall catastrophically. They paid for their rise with their peace, families, morals, and even their souls.
Don’t run the race of death in the name of success. Someone already died so you could have lasting success—Jesus Christ. The altar of Calvary is enough. It is the only altar that can break every other altar, no matter how strong. There is grace available for you to succeed with honour. You don’t need to consult the devil to make it in life.

Pick Up the Grace at Calvary
Real success is not about being known on Earth alone. It is about being known and valued in heaven. Pick up the grace at Calvary. Let God define your path. Let His Word guide your steps. Let His Spirit empower your hands to build.
You may not start with noise, but you will end with impact. You may not be visible today, but in due time, your fruit will speak. The success that comes from God is durable, fulfilling, and eternal.
Final Thought: Success at all costs is costly. Let your hunger be for meaningful, God-ordained success—one that leaves you whole, at peace, and counted worthy both on earth and in eternity.
